Memorandum

  • Name of the Association will tie the Association of Managements of Private Colleges, Madras.
    II. The aims and objects of the Association are:
  • To promote the cause of Higher Education with special reference to the efforts of colleges and other institutions owned and managed by Private Agencies and in furtherance thereof.
  • To create a better understanding of the various problems and questions affecting education in general and Higher Education, in particular.
  • To promote cooperative action amongst Private Colleges and other Institutions for solving common problems and for betterment of Higher Education and to cooperate with Industries and Research Centres for practical utilization of scientific knowledge and ideals.
  • To organise workshops, symposia, seminars and conferences for professional betterment of managements, teachers, and other members of staff of Private Colleges.
  • To make representations to all the educational authorities such as Ministry of Education, Government of India. Universities-Indian and Foreign-Universities Grants Commission, State Governments, Education Departments and other constituted bodies interested in Education, on all problems existing and arising from time to time and to secure the advancement and progress of colleges and higher education in the country.
  • To promote the Interests of Private Colleges, to safeguard their respective rights, privileges and liberties and in furtherance thereof to take such steps as the circumstances may warrant including legal steps;
  • To create public awareness in respect of any particular issue concerning the Private Colleges
  • To collect, print, publish and circulate statistics and all other information relating to education for the benefit of the colleges.
  • To promote healthy relationship between the managements, staff and students, so as to ensure the smooth functioning of the institutions.
  • To collect and maintain a fund to be contributed by donations and subscriptions for the objects and purposes of the Association.
  • To acquire immovable property and buildings, to construct buildings, and to purchase furniture, and equipment etc., for giving effect to all or any of the aims and objects of the Association.
  • To receive gifts or endowments on – such terms and conditions as may be imposed by the donor or donors in furtherance of all or any of the objects of the Association including the awarding of any scholarships to the students of member-colleges.
  • To invest the surplus funds of the Association, upon such securities movable or immovable properties and to otherwise deal with the same in such manner, as may from time to time, be deemed expedient by the Executive Committee and to apply the same and or the income thereof for or towards all or any of the purposes of the Association.
  • To sell exchange or transfer any of the assets of the Association movable or immovable and to execute all necessary documents therefore.
  • To associate itself with any Institution or Association having objects wholly or in part, similar to those of the Association and to cooperate with any person or body of persons in the furtherance of such objects.
  • To borrow and raise funds by mortgage or otherwise, in such manner and on such securities as the Association may think fit for the purpose of the Association.
  • To do all such other lawful acts and things as may be necessary or incidental and conducive to the attainment of tile above objects or any of them.
  • To frame rules and bye-laws to enable the efficient working of the Association and the achievement of the above objects.
